Maria graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from UCC, and went on to complete her Masters in Clinical Research at NUIG in 2012. She has over 5 years’ experience in clinical research coordination and recruitment. While completing her Masters she worked on a number of clinical trials in oncology, cardiology and diabetes at the HRB Clinical Research Facility, Galway. After this she joined the Stroke Research Group at the University of Cambridge, UK, coordinating and monitoring academic stroke research studies, and initiating the set-up of a multi-centre clinical trial throughout the UK. In 2016, she joined the Prostate Cancer Supportive Care (PCSC) Program in Vancouver, Canada as Research Coordinator. Here, she set-up and recruited to several prostate cancer research studies, and implemented an ePRO collection system in the prostate clinic as part of a global prostate cancer registry (TrueNTH Global Outcomes).
She joined the HRB CRF-C in February 2018 in the role of Site Monitor.
